The Meadows School Robotics
Welcome to The Meadows School Robotics website!
The Meadows School Robotics program was founded by a group of dedicated Lower School students, parents and faculty in 2005. The founding team was called the 'Sea Monkeys' and competed in the FIRST Lego League (FLL) 'Ocean Odyssey' Challenge.

The rookie team did remarkably well and won the first place trophy for the best presentation. Over the last few years, the robotics program has grown to encompass four teams with more than twenty participants from the 4th to 8th grades. There are currently plans to expand the robotics program into the high school and to field a team to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). Robotics is a wonderful way to motivate students to explore engineering and computer programming at a very young age.

teams, three teams finished in the top ten out of the 28 team field. The sixth grade team called Lights Out! eclipsed all other teams and won the entire competition, taking home the coveted Champions Award. Lights Out! is now eligible to compete in the FLL International Competition which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 17-19. Up to 84 teams from 27 countries are expected to compete. Coaches Tom Rehberger and Jon Holman will lead the Lights Out! Team to victory in Atlanta this April. Good Luck!!
This year's FLL Challenge is called 'Power Puzzle' and focuses on energy conservation. As part of the challenge, the Lights Out! team researched and toured the Molasky Building which is a L.E.E.D. building. L.E.E.D. stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The team has taken their research and created a multi-level video game that teaches the player about energy conservation. Please download and play the video game for FREE.
Learning is fun when you play.
